Any Day Now

Drawing / Photographic installation

installation based on 365 drawings; exhibited at MKG127, Toronto, 2014

This year long daily drawing project produced a series of 365 delicate pen drawings that function as a kind of failed calendar. Each day, for a year, the date was drawn out and then obscured. Unlike artists’ works that reaffirm their presence through the act of daily mark-making, Any Day Now records the presence of the artist and then denies it; it affirms the action and then transforms it into an impotent gesture. Each row presents one month, beginning with May 2013 and ending with April 2014.
