Treelines - Jordan River.

Sculpture / Installation / Photography

Crocheted trees made from wool and recycled plastic bags, colour photographs and video. placed in a Jordon River Clearcut.

Treelines - here and there is an ongoing installation series of cocheted trees and large format photographs and video projections shot in locations in Scotland and British Columbia. The project is meant to provoke questions and thoughts about land use, the legacy of colonialization and our collective relationship to land in a time of climate crisis. In the Jordan River version of the project MacGregor traveled with members of the Broken Forest Eco Art Group to work in a clearcut in Jordon River on Vancouver Island. Each artist created a site-specific artwork in the clearcut that was shared in a public presentation and at the Legacy Gallery in Victoria. MacGregor placed a selection of the crocheted trees inside a slash burn pile to be viewed in person as well as in photographs. Photographs and videos of the installation will be incoporated into future version of the Treelines - here and there project.
